Synthesis of Chitosan Capped Zinc Sulphide Nanoparticle Composites as an Antibacterial Agent for Liquid Handwash Disinfectant Applications

There is a need to develop alternative disinfectants that differ from conventional antibiotics address antibacterial resistance, along with specialized materials for biomedical applications. Herein, we report on the synthesis of zinc sulfide (ZnS) capped chitosan (CS) produce CS-ZnS nanocomposites (NCs), which were assayed activity in liquid handwash formulations. The NCs prepared using bottom-up wet-chemical method. role CS as capping agent was investigated by varying ratio respect ZnS precursor. characterized complementary spectral methods: scanning electron microscopy–energy dispersive X-ray spectroscopy, Fourier transform infrared and diffraction. activities (LH) formulations containing 1% (w/w) tested against Staphylococcus aureus Escherichia coli agar diffusion test This LH formulation displayed S. an average inhibition zone diameter range 16.9–19.1 mm, met quality standards set National Standardization Agency. formulated solutions showed activity, suggests have potential active ingredient tailored non-irritant detergents.
